Kirkham woman arrested on suspicion of money laundering after drugs search

A 29-year-old Kirkham woman has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering, say police.

The woman was arrested yesterday (February 16) after officers with Fylde and Wyre Neighbourhood Task Force raided a home in relation to a drugs investigation.

During a search of the home, officers found £6,500 which they believe might be related to money laundering.

The cash has been seized and the woman taken into custody.

A police spokesman said: "Fylde and Wyre neighbourhood task force have conducted a s23 misuse of drugs act warrant today (16/02/2021) in Kirkham.

"Following the execution of the warrant, around £6500 was located. A 29-year-old -female from Kirkham has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering."
