Items of 'sentimental value' stolen from 85-year-old woman during Chorley burglary

A number of sentimental items, including a unique wedding ring, were stolen from an 85-year-old woman during a burglary in Chorley.

Police are appealing for information following a burglary that occurred off Froom Street in Chorley.

The victim, an 85-year-old woman, was targeted between 2pm and 2.30pm on Sunday, March 8.

A number of items of sentimental value were stolen during the incident.

Among the stolen items was a unique wedding ring which consists of three rings that have been entwined into one.

The ring, which contains six diamonds, belonged to the victims late father and husband, according to police.

Two diamond earrings, a pearl necklace, commemorative Charles and Diana coins, and a rotary watch the victim bought over 60 years ago with her first wage were also stolen.

A spokesperson for Chorley police said: "If you have any information that may assist us, please contact us on 101 quoting log 1025 from March 8.

Officers particularly want to hear from you if you saw any vehicle acting suspiciously on the access routes towards Healey Nab on Sunday afternoon, or if someone has subsequently tried to sell you similar items.
