A spokesperson for the business said: “This is going to cost the business almost £1,000 to replace and repair. In this climate, being a small business is incredibly hard and an unexpected expense like this is just unfathomable.

“We need the window intact to keep our team, our shop and our furry four legged friends safe and able to keep them feeling their best - especially in time for Christmas.”

“We do understand that this time of year is hard for everyone but one of our clients saw our panic in the aftermath and suggested we start a GoFundMepage.”

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police confirmed that the vandalism is under investigation.
