Gunshots fired at car in Preston street
Gunshots were fired at a car in Preston today (Sunday, April 4).
Police were called to a report a vehicle had been damaged in Briery Close, Fulwood, at around 2.25pm.
Upon further investigation, officers said they believe a "firearm was discharged at the vehicle".
An investigation has now been launched and police are urging any eyewitnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, to come forward.
“Any use of a firearm in such circumstances is incredibly dangerous and it is only a matter of luck nobody was hurt or killed during this incident and I would encourage anyone who can assist our enquiries to come forward," Det Insp Ian Czapowski, of South CID, said.
"At this time we believe this was a targeted attack and there is no wider threat to the public.
"However, we know this will have been concerning for residents and we have stepped up patrols in the area.”
Anybody with information can contact police by calling 101, quoting log number 0827 of April 4.
