Four men arrested in murder probe after teenage boxer gunned down in Bury

Four men have been arrested over the murder of an 18-year-old boxer in Greater Manchester.

Cole Kershaw died in hospital after he was gunned down in Chesham Road, Bury, at about 9.40pm on Wednesday.

On Sunday, Greater Manchester Police said two 18-year-old men are being questioned on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

A 20-year-old man held on the same offence has been released under investigation, while an 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm has been bailed.

Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Butterworth, said: “It’s horrific to think that a young man has lost his life in such brutal circumstances.

“My heart really goes out to Cole’s family and I want to assure them and the wider community that we will leave no stone unturned in this investigation.”
