Aaron Whitney, 22 of Belmont Road, Fleetwood, was subject to a five year restraining order banning him contacting the Preston mum.

It was imposed after Whitney was jailed for 15 months for attacking a man in his bed he believed had texted her, and threatening on social media to petrol bomb her home.Sessions House Court heard between November 4 and 30, 2020, he made multiple attempts to contact her, commenting he had changed, and had been "doing major thinking".

"To summarise the defendant asks her to 'add him'."

"Around the same time she noticed she had received messages from his own Facebook profile."

The court heard he told her: " I don't know why I did the things I done to hurt you more" and "I was just set in my ways."

He added: "Let's not cause anymore hurt, too much has already been done."

On November 13 the victim's female friend informed her she had been in contact with Whitney, telling her he was missing her, and she asked if she would meet him secretly.

However the victim refused, and on November 20 she received a call in which Whitney said: "Don't put the phone down or it will be the biggest mistake of your life."

She received further messages and missed calls from another unknown number in which he said he was "going to get nasty".

The next day he sent several photos of himself with the same woman, adding: "Your best mate was lovely I enjoyed every minute."

Whitney has 32 convictions for 66 offences including domestic offences against another partner, and has been recalled to prison to serve the rest of his 15 month term on licence.

The court heard in a statement the mum said she had been left fearful to leave the house and had to get others to do her shopping for her.

Defending, Mr Holland said Whtiney's "overriding motivation" was to see their child,

He added: " It was not with a view to make her life uncomfortable, but he does now recognise with these recent events the prospect of them ever resuming their relationship appears to be completely undermined."

Whitney, who appeared by video link from HMP Altcourse, said: " All my life I've struggled with my ADHD but because of that I've not been able to proceed in relationships because I've not known how to treat people.

"As a child I never wanted to change but you've got to want to change and I'm at that turning point."

Recorder Neville Biddle imposed a four month jail term on top of his existing sentence and asked him to show he could amend his ways.
