Ex Chorley publican jailed over historic abuse while he worked at football club
A former Chorley pub landlord has been jailed for four and a half years after a court heard how he sexually abused boys while working as a football club chef.

Ieuan Jones, 69, known locally as ‘Taffy’, was ordered to sign the Sex Offender’s register for life by Judge Rhys Rowlands during his sentencing hearing before Mold Crown Court.
He was barred from working with vulnerable adults or children indefinitely.
Jones, who used to run the Cardwell Arms in Adlington, Chorley, was previously found guilty of sexually assaulting two boys, one an aspiring footballer, while working as a chef for Wrexham football club in the 1990s.
He had pleaded not guilty to carrying out offences against the boys but he was convicted of six counts of indecent assault.

Jones had joined Wrexham FC in 1997 to work in the kitchen at the Collier’s Park training ground.
He left Wrexham in 2004 and worked in the pub industry before taking on his own pub in Adlington.
New licensees have since taken over the Cardwell Arms but Jones remained in the area, living on Chorley Street, Adlington.
The probe into Jones began when a man came forward in the wake of the football coach abuse scandal which saw former Crewe Alexandra coach Barry Bennell jailed for more than 30 years for abusing young footballers, including former PNE reserve David Lean.
