In one case, a hotel in Blackpool tipped police off about a guest checking out while drunk and intending on driving to Birmingham.

9. Fail to stop RTC
This vehicle had been reported as being involved in a fail to stop RTC in the Preston area. The driver was stopped in Leighton Street and arrested after providing a breath alcohol reading of 105 at the roadside. They provided a reading of 110 in custody - more than three times the legal limit. Photo: Lancs Police

This Renault Scenic was stopped near Preston Docks due to some damage to the rear. Police officers found the driver had a provisional licence, no L plates fitted and was unsupervised. They were reported and the vehicle seized. Photo: Lancs Police
