A “drunk” driver flipped their car onto its roof after crashing in Hesketh Bank.

The collision occurred in Shore Road, Hesketh Bank, on Friday morning (July 8).

A picture from the scene showed the crash resulted in a blue car landing on its roof

Police said the driver managed to walk away from the crash unharmed, but provided a positive sample of breath.

He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drink driving before being sent to hospital as a precaution.

Officers urged residents to avoid the area if possible “owing to electricity cables in the road”.
