Dispersal order slapped on parts of Chorley town centre as police presence increased
A dispersal order has been placed on an area in Chorley after reports of anti-social behaviour in the town centre.
Due to a reported incident of disorder on Chapel Street at approximately 1.30pm today police have placed a dispersal order in place in and around Chorley Town Centre.
The order, under Section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour and Policing Act 2014, gives police officers and PCSOs powers to direct people who they suspect are causing or likely to cause crime, nuisance or anti-social behaviour, out of the defined area.
The area that this covers is in the attached image.

Anyone who fails to abide by this order may risk being arrested.
The order will remain in place until at least 6pm this evening and will be extended if required.
A spokespeson for the police added: “We can confirm that there will be an increased presence in this area during this time.”
