The blue Ford Focus was pulled over by officers from the Lancs Road Police team after it was spotted with a damaged wing, headlight and bumper, inset.
An officer later tweeted images of the car on the team’s Twitter account.
The tweet said: “Vehicle stopped on the M55 leaving Blackpool. Driver claimed to have had a collision some three weeks prior and had continued to drive the vehicle in it’s current “safe” condition.”

The driver was reported for using a vehicle in a dangerous condition and issued a prohibition.
