As well as helping out with major accidents on the region’s motorway network, officers have been stopping drivers for a range of offences.
Suspiciously slow or fast cars have revealed drugs, a lack of insurance, no licence and even a car being driven on its rims.

9. Clingfilm
This car was stopped as it was just about to leave Forton Services onto the M6 to drive to Scotland. The window had been covered with cling film providing zero visibility for the driver. Police made sure it was removed with immediate effect. Photo: Lancashire Police

10. Excessive speeds
Police said: "Whilst cruising north on M6 near Garstang this car passed a marked vehicle in excess of the speed limit. "It was followed all the way to Forton services where driver maintained their speed and didn’t slow down. The driver was found to have a revoked licence and was also uninsured." Photo: Lancs Police
