Clayton Brook car fire is deemed "suspicious"

A car found on fire on a driveway in Clayton Brook shortly after midnight has been deemed "suspicious", say the fire service.

Fire crews were called out to the fire outside a home in Daisy Meadow, off Clayton Brook Road, at 12.20am this morning (Thursday, March 4).

The fire, which was swiftly tackled by the fire crew, is believed to be of "suspicious origin" and has been reported to police for further investigation.

A fire service spokesman said: "At 12.20am, one fire engine from Bamber Bridge attended a vehicle fire in Daisy Meadow, Clayton Brook.

"The vehicle, on a driveway, was found alight and firefighters used a hose reel and thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire that was thought to be of suspicious origin.

"Crews were in attendance for twenty minutes."
