Police said the driver was traced after the car was seen performing a 'wheel spinning' stunt in a town centre car park on Saturday (June 20).

The car was said to be seen constantly 'spinning' its wheels whilst stationary on a speed bump, with the spinning tyres causing damage to it.

Friday Street car park and Portland Street Car Park, near McDonalds, have been hot spots for anti-social driving in recent years.

But police are warning that action will be taken against reckless drivers and cars can be seized retrospectively.

What is a section 59 offence?

Vehicles can be seized if the police officer / PCSO reasonably believes that a vehicle is being used in a manner causing, or likely to cause alarm, distress or annoyance to the public, e.g. careless/inconsiderate driving.
