Cannabis plants worth £500,000 seized from a farm in Colne

Officers with the local neighbourhood policing team said around 500 plants were discovered at the site.
According to Lancashire Police, the crop is believed to be worth £500,000 in street value - which equates to a staggering £1,000 per plant.

Hide AdThe exact location of the alleged cultivation has not been disclosed by the force, but it said the site was "in a secluded location in a rural area of Colne".
Pictures of the cannabis plants and cultivation site have not been provided by police.
A spokesman for Colne and West Craven Police said: "Officers from the neighbourhood policing team have acted on community information in regards to a possible cannabis farm in the rural area of Colne.
"Officers have located the large cannabis cultivation which contained over 500 plants.

Hide Ad"The secluded location and access issues caused some problems but as ever the team worked tirelessly throughout the day to get it done.
"The Pendle Police and Ribble Valley Police taskforce team and NHP team have spent the day dismantling the cannabis farm valued at £500,000.
"The taskforce along with the electricity board have been to dismantle this set up and make the property safe.
"Officers will continue to act on community information in order to make our community a safer place."
Lancashire Police has been approached for more information on the seizure.
