Burglars target Lancaster railway station and steal cash and pop from shop

Thieves have broken into a shop at Lancaster railway station.

British Transport Police were called to the station in the early hours of Tuesday morning (April 14).

Officers said two men had broken into the shop at around 5am, where they stole a quantity of cash, as well as drinks from a vending machine.

Police said no arrests have been made at this stage, but the investigation is ongoing.

A police spokesman said: "Officers were called to Lancaster station shortly before 5am on April 14 following reports of a burglary in the early hours of the morning.

"Two men broke into the shop and stole cash and several drinks from a vending machine.

"Enquiries are currently ongoing into the incident."

The shop was cordoned off and closed to the public before it reopened yesterday (Wednesday, April 15).
