Police were called to the incident on 8 February at the Best Western golfing hotel on Bowgreave Drive after burglars "prised open the window" of a hotel room and stole phones, an iPad, a Kindle and other items.

Sergeant Danielle Freaney of Wyre Police said: "Thieves broke into one of the hotel rooms at the golf club yesterday evening.

"We believe they accessed the room via a dirt track that came over the green and then prised open the window to the room.

"They rifled through the holidaymakers' suitcases and escaped with over £600 worth of high value electrical items as well as car keys and house keys.

"This is an unfortunate incident as the victims of this crime were visitors to this area and have clearly not had the best experience.

"Two men in their early twenties were seen behaving suspiciously earlier on in the evening on Garstang Road and we would like to speak to them."

Anybody with information regarding this incident can contact police on 101 quoting crime reference WB1701221.

Representatives at the hotel were contacted but nobody was available for comment.
