Residents were warned to be cautious after broken glass and buried bottles were found in the park yesterday morning (April 15).

Some of the bottles had reportedly been shoved into the ground upside down, with others left broken and sharp.

Preston City Council said the glass has now been removed and the holes have been repaired, but stated this incident "appears to have been done deliberately".

Ally Brown, Director of Communities and Environment, said: "It's extremely upsetting that this appears to have been done deliberately, but thankfully no person or animal seems to have been injured by these horrible actions."

"Our gardeners have now removed the glass and filled in the holes to repair the ground, offering reassurance to visitors that we take their safety seriously and act quickly."
