Body found at Broughton roundabout
A man's body has been found at a major Lancashire motorway junction.
The eastbound slip road of the M55 towards Preston was closed to traffic after the find at Broughton roundabout on Sunday morning.
A police spokesman said the body is that of an adult male and his death is not thought to be suspicious.
Officers were alerted by the North West Ambulance Service after the body was found on the pavement under the roundabout bridge at Broughton, where the M55 meets the M6.
Crime scene investigation teams have been at the scene through Sunday morning, with the police spokesman adding that it is thought the victim may have fallen from the bridge. A report would be prepared for the coroner.
The slip road is expected to reopen around lunchtime.
