Blackpool man wanted after woman punched and strangled in 'serious assault'

A woman was punched and strangled in what police described as a serious assault in Blackpool.

Police are looking for Freddie Broadbent, 24, of Claremont Court, in connection with the crime, which happened on September 14.

Broadbent is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, with a medium to large build, ginger hair and blue eyes. He has links to Blackpool, Preston and Lancaster.

Police are appealing for information about Broadbent and urging anyone who sees him not to approach him.

PC Chloe Banks said: “Broadbent is wanted by police in connection with a serious assault.

“If you know where he is please come forward with information.

“Do not approach him but please provide details of his location and clothing.”
