Arrest made after complaints women were touched
Police have made an arrest after two women alleged they were touched inappropriately by a man on a bike.
Officers say a 30-year-old from Preston is in custody on suspicion of sexual assault following a media appeal for witnesses.
The women both claimed they were touched by a man cycling past.
The first incident happened on February 23 and involved a 24-year-old woman who was walking along Lytham Road in the city.
The second came on March 13 when a 43-year-old woman was walking in Garstang Road, near to its junction with Lytham Road.
On each occasion the women claimed the man grabbed their bottom before cycling off.
A police spokesman said today: “Following our appeal on Monday, a 30-year-old man from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and is currently in custody.”
