The first incident happened on February 23 and involved a 24-year-old woman who was walking along Lytham Road in the city.

The second came on March 13 when a 43-year-old woman was walking in Garstang Road, near to its junction with Lytham Road.

On each occasion the women claimed the man grabbed their bottom before cycling off.

A police spokesman said today: “Following our appeal on Monday, a 30-year-old man from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and is currently in custody.”
