After complaints from people in the city, Operation Dismount was an appeal that started earlier in the year to target nuisance motorbikes.

Preston police are now attempting to track down a man who was captured riding along public footpaths at the popular Guild Wheel on a motorbike yesterday.

The Guild Wheel route is mainly off-road and traffic free and according to the LCC website, provides 'a scenic and safe cycling and walking route for all the family to use'.

A spokesperson for Preston Police said: “We would like to identify the person pictured, who was recorded riding at speed along the public footpaths on the Guild Wheel.

“He even smiled for the camera as he went past."
