'Anger and upset' after vandals smash window at family-run Post Office in Bamber Bridge

The Post Office in Cotton Mill Road had one of its windows smashed by a rock after it was targeted by vandals at around 8.30pm on Sunday (November 15).

Remi Atkins, whose mum and auntie runs the business, has now launched an appeal to help catch the perpetrator/s after discovering their insurance does not cover the damage, leaving them with the cost of boarding up and replacing the window.

"This is my mother's business," she explained, "Her and my auntie both own the Bamber Bridge Post Office and she's just rang me upset and angry to discover someone has attempted to put through the window of the Post Office.

"If anyone has any information at all regarding this, please do get into contact with me.

"This isn’t what our family needed before Christmas. Unbelievable."

Remi added the family will be sending CCTV footage of the incident to police in an attempt to find those responsible.

Officers have confirmed no arrests have been made as of yet but enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with information has been urged to come forward.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "We were called to reports of criminal damage at a commercial premises in Cotton Mill Road, Bamber Bridge, at 8.25pm on November 15.

"It appears a rock has been thrown at a window. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information can call police on 101, quoting log 1283 of November 15."
