Absconder from Kirkham prison is found in the West Midlands

A prisoner who absconder from a Fylde coast prison has been found more than 100 miles away

Kieran Gordon, originally from Sandwell in the West Midlands, went missing from HMP Kirkham on March 8.

Gordon was originally sentenced to seven years, eight months and 27 days for burglary, theft and imitation firearms offences and was sentenced in September 2014 at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

A Lancashire Police spokesman confirmed that Gordon had been found by colleagues from West Midlands Police yesterday.

The spokesman said: "Further to our earlier appeal, wanted prison absconder Kieran Gordon was arrested yesterday in the West Midlands area. He is currently in custody."
