"We are asking people to be vigilant and if you see someone doing work on a car and suspect something isn’t quite right, please call us."

To protect their vehicles, people are advised to park them in a locked garage if possible. If not, people should park in a busy, well-lit area close to their home.

People can also attach a Thatcham approved alarm to their cars, which will activate if the car is lifted or tilted.
