For palomino cob Strawberries and Cream represents the next generation of the resort’s famous landau horses.

She was born last Wednesday to mum Peaches and Cream and dad Vanilla, who are both landau horses owned by Colin and Ella Sinderson.

It is the first foal they have bred from two of their own horses.

Ella said: “With owning both the mother and the father, the arrival of Strawberries and Cream is really special for us.

“She is absolutely gorgeous and she will stay with us. Peaches and Cream is a really strong mare and gave birth without a vet needing to be present.

“Everything went fine.

“Both mum and baby will be out in the fields for the summer, but Vanilla will be on the Promenade as usual this year.”

Colin and Ella have 11 working horses in total for their two carriages and operate out of stables in South Shore.

It will be a while though before their new addition joins the team as horses must be at least four years old before they can work on the Prom.

The couple say their horses are ‘part of the family’ which also includes retired carriage horse Queenie, who is 20, and is now used to help children learn to ride.
