It was the first of five dates that the niche market will open at the Lancastrian Suite in Chorley Town Hall this year.
Talented makers and creators showcased their handiwork and homemade food while shoppers browsed the array of about 30 stalls.
While some shoppers were on the hunt for a unique Mother’s Day gift, others were shopping to treat themselves.
A spokesman for MWL Events, which runs the market, said: “We specialise in running professional events with a 100 per cent handmade guarantee.

“We like to encourage visitors with an appreciation for a handcrafted piece to spend a few hours at our events and hopefully take home a unique gift or maybe even the inspiration to get creative themselves.
“We really love this venue and Chorley folk are always so appreciative of handmade.”
With free entry and light refreshments available throughout the day hundreds of shoppers turned out.
The next Chorley Handmade Market is set to take place on May 13 at Chorley Town Hall in Market Street from 11am-4pm.
