Council issues huge update on Frankies Doggy Daycare in Preston after complaints and temporary closure
The owner of a doggy daycare in Preston has announced they have closed for good.
Frankies Doggy Daycare at Redscar Business Park in Preston came under scrutiny in September after one of its customers claimed their dog injured himself.
The customer, who did not want to be named, said their German shorthaired pointer dog named Odin injured his ear while at the doggy daycare.

They claimed he had ripped a chunk of his ear off (found on the floor), and that daycare staff had no idea how it happened.
A spokesperson for Preston City Council has confirmed that following a number of complaints regarding the doggy daycare, they had opened an investigation.
They said: “We can confirm that we have received complaints regarding Frankie’s Doggy Daycare.
“We hope you understand that, as this is now an ongoing investigation, we are currently unable to comment further.”
The owner of Frankies Doggy Daycare who paid for Odin’s veterinary costs said that the safety and welfare of every dog in their care is the absolute priority, and they are deeply upset that an incident of this nature has occurred.
Providing an update on the business he then previously told the Post that he had taken the “difficult but voluntary decision to close the daycare for the foreseeable future” following the incident.

Providing an update on the matter a spokesperson for Preston City Council said they had made a number of visits to the premises to carry ut an inspection but to no avail.
They said: “A number of visits were made to site to try and investigate, but the premises was always closed.
“We have now been in contact with the owner and they have decided to close the business and will be looking to surrender their licence.”
They added: “Our investigation has therefore been closed, as the business is no longer operating.”
While no reason has been given by the owner for the permanent closure, Companies House Ltd lists the business as having accounts overdue.
The Company status currently reads - Active — Active proposal to strike off.
The business is no longer on Facebook, but still cites opening hours on its website.
The owner has been approached for comment.
