A bonanza of concerts, workshops, exhibitions, craft fairs, poetry readings, films, talks and guided walks ends on October 19 where it all began a fortnight ago.

Opening the show will be songs from the post-war era performed by Dani Gallagher and Michael Bilsbrough, who recently took the leading role in Preston Musical Comedy
Society’s production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Aspects of Love.

They will be followed by the a capella choir Gathered Voices under extrovert musical director Jeff Borradaile – no doubt an opportunity to join in.

The concert comes to a grand finale with a performance by Preston Opera who will be singing mostly songs written by British composers or from British inspired operas, together with a preview of their upcoming production of Verdi’s Nabucco.

Preston Opera chorus and soloists will be accompanied by pianist Henry Bond and conducted by chorus master Barrie Wright.

A rousing finale is promised and organisers are hoping to see lots of waving Union Jacks!

The concert will start at 1.30pm and the MC for the afternoon will be Rob Feeley.

Admission to the concert is free, although there will be a retiring collection for those who wish to show their appreciation at the end of the show.
