Christmas Day misery as power cut leaves homes across South Ribble and Lancaster without electricity
It’s a case of Christmas Day misery for many Lancastrians as a power cut has left many homes without electricity.
Taking to Facebook, many posted about the power cut sharing their disappointment, with one person saying: “Happy Christmas!”
Homes currently without electricty include the South Ribble area and Lancaster.
Three properties are affeacted in Over Kellet in Lancaster, while in South Ribble there are two incidents listed.
23 properties are currently without electrictity in the Farington Moss area and 38 properties close to Chain House Lane in Whitestake.
A spokesperson for SP Electricity North West said: “This power cut has been caused by an unexpected incident on the high voltage cable that provides electricity to your home or business.
“We didn't know before your electricity went off that this was going to happen but now we know, rest assured we will get your power back on safely and as quickly as possible.”
The power is expected to be restored by lunchtime.
