The free event will be held on November 5 in St Joseph’s Sports Hall, Rigby Street, with neighbours given the chance to say what they would like to see in the future.

The celebration will begin at midday with lunch, followed by music, displays of everyone’s work from the year, art workshops, and a mini carnival procession.

Children have been working with leaders from ArtFull and Cacophany Arkestra to make carnival displays, and visitors can make a headdress on the day. FOFS music group will perform their first gig, with a competition to find a name for the band.

Bernie Velvick of ArtFull said: “We’ve had a great time working with FOFS and the residents of Fishwick and St Matthew’s on the Big Local Art project, but this is only the beginning.

“We’re hoping that people will come along to the celebration and let us know what they want to happen next. After the celebration we’ll be working on finding funding for next year’s creative projects.”
