A car was badly damaged when it caught on fire on the motorway.
The blue Volkswagen Golf set alight at 2.30pm today on the northbound carriageway of the M6 between junction 27 at Orrell and junction 28 at Leyland.
Firefighters from Bamber Bridge attended to put out the blaze.
