Burglars jailed for more than seven years after series of break-ins in Blackburn

Two men have been jailed for a combined total of more than seven years after carrying out a series of residential and attempted burglaries in Blackburn.

Ryan Price and Gary Duckworth targeted homes in the Little Harwood area during late February and early March last year.

An investigation was launched by the Lancashire Police’s East Burglary Team, leading to both men being swiftly arrested.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, the pair were charged with multiple offences of residential burglary.

Last week, both men appeared at Preston Crown Court for sentencing.

Price was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison, while Duckworth received a two years and eight months custodial sentence.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “Residential burglary has a significant impact on those affected.

“Lancashire police are committed to finding those responsible and we will continue to tackle residential burglary and work tirelessly for those affected.”

The sentences were part of the force’s ongoing work under Operation Defender, a force-wide approach to tackling residential burglary.
