Buckshaw Roofing Solutions offers free services to homeowners affected by rooftop incident in Chorley

A Buckshaw Village roofing company has offered to carry out repairs free of charge to anyone whose home has been damaged during a roof stand off in Chorley on Sunday morning.

Emergency services and police rushed to the residential property on Bolton Road after receiving reports that a man had climbed onto it and started throwing slates.

A 42-year-old man from Adlington is currently in custody after causing a disturbance on a roof in Chorley yesterday morning.

The main road through Chorley was then closed while emergency services crews battled with the man as a six-hour stand-off ensued.

Witnesses claimed he was allegedly ‘setting small fires’ and ‘throwing objects from the roof’ at officers.

The man was arrested on suspicion of assault, assault on an emergency worker, arson with intent to life and criminal damage.
