BREAKING: Former Ranch House pub in Morecambe on fire

Fire crews are currently dealing with a major fire at the derelict Ranch House pub in Morecambe.

Eight fire engines are at the scene and fire crews are tackling the blaze which broke out around 6.30pm on Friday, July 1.

Crowds are at the scene watching as yet another iconic Morecambe building goes up in flames.

The promenade is closed due to the fire and diversions are in place whilst firefighters tackle the flames.

The 6A and 3A buses are being diverted to Regent Road and West End Road,

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are advising that due to the wind direction people living in the Poulton area may be affected by smoke from the fire and to keep their windows and doors shut.

Reports are coming in that the Ranch House has been gutted by the fire and very little remains of the building.

Firefighters are now believed to have the blaze under control.

The former Ranch House closed in January and was due to be demolished to make way for Morecambe’s new £17m Bay shopping park.

Developers Opus North were due to start construction in May.
