'Body' recovered from Preston Docks as police launch investigation

A body has reportedly been discovered in Preston Docks, police have confirmed.

Police rushed to Preston Docks, off Mariners Way, following reports a body had been found in the water at around 9am today (October 7).

There was a large police presence in the area, with ambulance crews and firefighters also on the scene.

Officers have confirmed an investigation is now underway.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "We were called at shortly after 9am today (Wednesday, October 7) to a report of a body in the water at the docks on Mariners Way in Preston.

"Police are at the scene and enquiries are ongoing."
