'Big house fire' causes clouds of black smoke to billow over Leyland
A fire has reportedly ripped through a house in Leyland, resulting in large plumes of black smoke.
Firefighters have reportedly been tackling a large house fire near Springfield Road since around 5.30pm this afternoon (May 30).
Video footage by Sarah Mason shows the roof a property engulfed in flames and large clouds of black smoke filling the sky.
Eyewitness reports state the fire has spread to three attached houses, but this has not been confirmed.
No injuries have been reported, but the house has allegedly been destroyed as a result of the fire.
One eyewitness said: "Stay clear near Springfield road (Queensway) on Wade hall.
"Big house fire which has now spread to three attached houses."
One onlooker believes the fire was caused by a tree which caught alight outside the home.
They said: "A tree outside went up and caught the roof of the house.
"It's spread to both houses on either side."
