Beauty queen gives time and donations to homeless charity

A junior beauty queen has been thanked for her generosity after collecting and donating a hoard of toiletries and food to Preston's Foxton Centre for homeless people.

Elli Westwood, who was this year crowned Junior Miss Preston, recently began volunteering for a youth group based at the centre.

The teenager has been inspired to volunteer her spare time to local community causes after a busy year of fundraising.

She will now be working with the youth group on a weekly basis, she said: “The kids were all great and so full of happiness, love and fun.
