Baby Hugo steals the show at Mum and Dad’s wedding day

The couple from Tarleton, who met in 2009, finally got round to their first date three years later.

Sarah, a social media consultant says, “We both love the theatre and our first date was to go and see ‘Oliver’ in Manchester.

“As we both work long hours, weekends away to watch a show became our solace.”

By 2013 the pair had moved in together and had a baby on the way - Hugo arrived in April this year.

While showing Hugo off on his first trip to Southport in May, the couple were walking down Lord Street when Andrew, a garage owner, suggested a detour.

“We were still both in our new baby bubble and stopped off at a jeweller’s shop and Andrew proposed there and then.”

The pair decided they wanted to marry the same summer and approached West Tower at Aughton to be their venue.

“They had two dates available but we couldn’t secure a registrar for the first date so July 11 it was!”

Sarah and Andrew were married outside in 27 degree heat at what would turn out to be West Tower’s first outdoor wedding.

“The weather was amazing,” says Sarah.

“It was such a relaxed, fun filled afternoon and Hugo was a little treasure - to be honest he was probably the star attraction as he watched the day from his pimped up vintage pram!”

Guests were entertained by a magician, casino tables and vibrant, coloured balloons.

The newlyweds also created their own wedding hashtag #poswedding2014, so their guests could share photos online.

“We even got a retweet from TOWIE’s Jessica Wright. who had seen a picture of our bridesmaids wearing her dress.

“It was great fun checking out all the pictures as we chilled out on our honeymoon.”
