A wedding day to remember for Jessica Johnson and Aaron Reeve
A snorkelling trip in Cuba became a day to remember for Jessica Johnson as Aaron Reeve proposed.Jessica, 27, a senior nurse practitioner from Preston, said: “He proposed while snorkelling, possibly so he didn’t have to formally ask. “He nearly dropped the ring as the box had started to disintegrate because he had been in the water for so long before asking.“He was swarmed by fish thinking it was food.”They were high school sweethearts and tied the knot at Farington Lodge, Leyland, surrounded by their family and friends.Originally they were hoping to marry in Mexico having fallen in love with the beauty of the area during a holiday there. However they had a surprise not long after when they found out they were expecting a baby.“For logistical reasons for both ourselves and our families we decided, although somewhat reluctantly, to marry in England,” said Jessica. As a surprise for guests, Aaron and Jessica hired a traditional Mexican Mariachi band, which travelled from London, to perform at the evening reception.Tequila shots where served as they performed in traditional dress to traditional Latin songs.Afterwards a saxophonist played with the DJ which Jessica says was possibly her own highlight.Aaron said: “All of our planning and surprises paid off and our guests loved them.“We enjoyed a truly magical day and getting to share it with my beautiful new wife, family and friends made it truly perfect”Jessica added: “Despite the rain meaning our day had to be moved from outside to indoors, our day couldn’t have been any more amazing and one that I loved every single moment of, and wouldn’t change a thing about.”
