Lancashire Police say the teenager is one of two suspects arrested after a stolen car was spotted in the city in the afternoon.

The force says the stolen car "made off" when signalled to stop, leading to a police chase along Blackpool Road and Waterloo Road.

But the driver was left with nowhere to go after turning into Oswald Road - a dead end off Wellington Road - where he and his passenger were blocked in by police.
