Stiff Little Fingers return to Preston
Formed in 1977 in Belfast by singer Jake Burns, their hits encapsulated not just the energy of punk but the frustration of growing up in the shadow of The Troubles.
When they sent a copy of their tunes, Suspect Device and Wasted Life, to DJ John Peel, they caught his ear and he began playing it every night.

Hide AdDebut album Inflammable Material cemented their place at the forefront of the punk movement but in 1983, they split, torn apart by rows.
However, they reunited for a few reunion shows in 1987 and, surprised by the reaction, Burns decided to carry on, recruiting The Jam bassist Bruce Foxton to replace original bassman Ali McMordie.
But, after 15 years, McMordie claimed his job back when Foxton left and SLF have continued to release new material and play to packed houses.
