The three-day event showcases the best of gardening, countryside, food and crafts in the grounds of Holker Hall in Cark-in-Cartmel, Cumbria from Friday-Sunday.

Christine, The One Show’s resident gardening expert, will be at the festival on Friday to take part in Q&A sessions in the Holker Garden Theatre, signing copies of her new book ‘No Nonsense Container Gardening’ and offering expert advice and top tips to amateur gardeners and visitors.

Among the other attractions are horticultural displays, marquees, inspiring show gardens, live garden theatre and rare and unusual plants.

There will be plenty of good old fashioned family fun on the agenda (children under 16 go free) with a 50ft traditional Victorian Helter Skelter.

Live shows will be held in the arena including the daring Gerard Naprous & the Devil’s Horsemen Stunt Team, as well as lamb national and sheepdog displays by Bob Hogg and terrier racing.

Plus there will be shire horses, as well as traditional farming tools and machinery, steam driven engines and vintage tractors. Foodies will find a feast of delights with a variety of Artisan and local produce available from delicious afternoon teas with fresh strawberries and cream to hearty hog roasts.

Or why not step in to the Cartmel ‘pop-up’ village and taste some of its well-known delicacies from businesses such as Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding, Cartmel cheeses and Unsworth Brewery.

Entrance to the Festival is £15 for adults and £13.50 for seniors/students; discounts for advance bookings are available online. Children under 16 go free when accompanied by an adult.
