Preston 10k postponed until September

Organisers have postponed the SPAR City of Preston 10k until September.

The event, which was due to take place on Sunday March 28 will now be held on Sunday September 26.

With the new date secured, organisers The Running Bee Foundation says all participants will be automatically moved over.

In the meantime the Foundation is hosting a Virtual Spar SPAR City of Preston 10K, with people now able to book.

The Running Bee’s Chair of Trustees Carl Austin-Behan OBE, DL said: “Like so many other charitable organisations, we have been hit hard by the effects of Covid-19.

“We planned for many months to ensure we met all the health and safety requirements in order for runners and spectators to be safe.

“However, with the continued impact of Coronavirus in Lancashire and across the UK, we must support Preston City council in their efforts to protect the community and the safety of everyone involved in our events.

“We hope to be back in the autumn and our thoughts and best wishes are with the people of Preston, the council and our fantastic sponsor SPAR.”
