Lancashire enjoys greater freedom on first weekend under new 'relaxed' lockdown rules

People were getting out and about a little more on the first weekend since the lockdown was eased slightly to allow more exercise.

We're still being urged to stay at home as much as possible but the daily limit on exercise is gone, while sunbathing and sitting on park benches are now allowed. The roads were still quieter than normal on Saturday (May 16) but there were signs of life as people made the most of their new-found freedom.

The M6 was busier that at the start of lockdown but still fairly quiet
Sunbathing is now allowed.
Lots of people clearly had the same idea.
Families enjoyed a nice day in the park.
Sitting on a park bench would have been frowned upon a few days ago.
Spending some time with nature.
It's important to get out for exercise if you can.
Not too many people were travelling on Lancashire's motorways.
It beats being stuck indoors.
Plenty of space for social distancing.
