1 What appealed to you most about the property?

Its character with its unique features like the stained glass windows; the surrounding space and gardens which we have put a lot of effort into. It gave me the opportunity to utilise my own skills, such as renovating the driveway which I changed from Tarmac to Indian stone flags and building a stone wall around the garden. It is in an excellent location not over looked and very private from surrounding neighbours.

2 How long have you lived in the property?

I have lived here for the last 16 years having moved from a very rural setting. The previous owners were retired and had lived here for at least 30 years. They were only moving to live closer to their daughter and were reluctant to sell this beautiful home, keeping us on our toes as they took it off the market twice. My late wife had a passion for renovating her property to her exact taste and spent endless hours making curtains and choosing wallpapers. There was always a task for me and she would purchase wallpapers and fabric and store it for when she fancied a change of decor.

3 What have you done to the house since moving into the property?

When we moved into the property we put a new kitchen in and bathroom. Since then it has been decorated throughout with a new downstairs cloakroom. The property was totally renovated from when the previous owners lived here.

4 Why are you selling?

Both my daughters used to live here and have since moved to their own homes with their family. This home is very much a family home with too much living space just for myself. I would like to move to a smaller property now that I am looking towards an easier lifestyle.

5 What is your favourite room and why?

My favourite room would be my bedroom, as this looks out onto the front garden. It is so peaceful and restful to watch the birds in the birdbath and hear the dawn chorus.

6 What will you miss most about moving?

I will miss the outside space as I know I will not find a property with such exquisite privacy and surrounding space with gardens at the front, side and rear and my detached garage.

7 How close are the amenities?

Asda, Booths, RPH, the motorway network are very close and the bus route is at the bottom of D’urton Lane.

8 To whom would this property be best suited?

It’s very well suited to a family who could make the most of the outside space and also suits someone who is interested in renovating and extending property to accommodate their needs.

The unique and prime location is also a great advantage.
