2-bedroom Burnley home could be yours for just £10,000
A Burnley terrace house is going to auction – with a guide price of just £10,000.
The property, spread over four floors at 25 Herbert Street, is described as “requiring refurbishment” by auction house Taylor James Auctions.
There is a cellar on the lower ground floor, with a reception room and kitchen on the ground floor. The first floor boasts two bedrooms and a bathroom, with an attic room on the second floor and a rear yard outside.
The property has a guide price of £10,000-plus – according to the latest UK House Price Index, the average price of a property in England is £269,150, while in Burnley it is £97,667.
The house is one of nearly 40 lots at the Taylor James Auctions’ property sale on Thursday, February 25.
Russell Taylor, Taylor James Auctions director and auctioneer, said: “Having been involved in the auction industry for nearly two decades, I have always found that the most attractive thing about purchasing at auction is the speed and certainty.
“I receive so many phone calls from buyers who are frustrated at purchases which have fallen apart on the open market after spending time and money trying to buy a property.
“At auction, this does not happen, as if you are the highest bidder you have bought a property with immediate exchange and completion within a month.
“There is no messing about or pulling out, which means you can have the peace of mind that you have successfully purchased a new property.”
