Riverside Tap House opens in Garstang after clubhouse refurbishment - in pictures

Garstang’s community sports scene is set for a boost as the newly refurbished clubhouse throws open its doors as the Riverside Tap House.

The venue, which has undergone a comprehensive renovation, officially opened today (Friday, October 16), with a weekend of live music, street food and sporting entertainment.

The transformation is the second phase of a wider regeneration project at the club, following earlier improvements to changing rooms and sports facilities completed earlier this year.

Rather than being managed by the club, the new Riverside Tap House will operate as an independent business, aiming to offer a welcoming space for both sports fans and the wider community.

A spokesperson for Garstang Community Sports Hub praised the dedication of the committee and the Riverside team, highlighting the project’s community focus. “Behind this incredible achievement is a committee that has worked tirelessly, giving up evenings, weekends and countless hours of their own time to turn a vision into reality. Alongside them, the amazing team behind the Riverside have helped bring this fantastic new space to life.”

They added: “This has never just been about bricks and mortar. It’s about building something special for our community. A place where friendships are made, families come together, memories are created and future generations can thrive.”
