Preston’s Spud Bros set to release new spud to support dementia choir

This Christmas, Preston-based Spud Bros are teaming up with Our Dementia Choir to spread love and awareness - with every special ‘charity spud’ sold helping to support those affected by dementia.

Dementia doesn’t just touch the person living with it - it affects everyone who loves them. This Christmas, a heartfelt campaign seeks to bring the community together in support of Our Dementia Choir, a group dedicated to giving people with dementia and their families, the gift of connection through music.

Helping to lead the charge are Spud Bros the viral Preston jacket potato business. For every special Christmas spud they sell, £1 will be donated directly to the choir ensuring that each mouth-watering potato serves a purpose far beyond the plate.

The idea is beautifully simple and deeply meaningful. By combining the Spud Bros’ social media reach and entrepreneurial spirit with the choir’s mission, organisers hope to raise both awareness and vital funds during the festive season.

Organisers of Our Dementia Choir say their community offers more than just singing: it’s a place of joy and belonging.

People living with dementia often struggle with isolation; the choir gives them a voice, literally and figuratively and offers carers a space to heal and celebrate.

This Christmas campaign invites the public to support in any way they can: by buying a spud, sharing the cause on social media, or simply sending a message of love to those in the choir.

Every small act helps brighten the lives of those navigating dementia.

Jacob and Harley Nelson, the brothers behind Spud Bros, have grown their brand from their iconic Preston food tram into a social media sensation.

Their involvement in charitable work is well-aligned with their roots - people across Lancashire know the duo for their generosity as much as their viral videos.

A spokesperson on Facebook SpudBros page said: “We’ve also got a brand-new spud on the way and for every one sold, £1 will be donated directly to support the choir.

“If you can, please support or share. Together, we can make a real difference this Christmas.”

By backing the dementia choir they hope to spread real Christmas spirit - not just through spuds, but through stories and music.

A spokesperson from Our Dementia Choir said: “We can’t thanks SpudBros enough for joining our journye, raising awareness and spreading love this Christmas.”
