5. Barton Grange and The Flower Bowl
As well as Barton Grange garden centre being one of the best in the country - it recently won the title of Best Plant Area in the UK for the second year running - the complex also offers The Flower Bowl. 7. A commuter's dream
Preston must be one of the best-connected locations in the country. The M6 was the first motorway to open in 1958 (at the Bamber Bridge interchange), and now people in Preston have easy access to the M65, M6 and M61, making trips to the Lake District and Manchester much easier. 8. Administrative centre of Lancashire
Preston is the administrative centre of Lancashire. The County Council is based in Fishergate Hill, the English Football League (EFL) are based in West Cliff, several top law firms and accountants have their offices in Preston, Lancashire's largest and most modern Crown Court is in Preston, and just a couple of miles away, Lancashire Constabulary is based in Hutton.
